We give you 3 hints but we always have ways that you can get extra hints without having to sing and dance, we don’t do that here. We will not let you stand around doing nothing. If you ask for help you will get help. No one loses because they ran out of hints.
A Red Herring is a misleading clue that intentionally distracts you from the real puzzles. We do not include red herrings in our game design. In fact, the team at Escape This Frederick believes red herrings do not belong in escape rooms. If you did not use an item, it is simply a prop or decoration for immersion.
All our rooms are nonlinear; you will always have multiple puzzles to start a game and most of the time you will have 2 or more puzzles that can be solved by your team. There might be points where the game might bottleneck but it will most likely branch out to multiples puzzles again.
Some games might have obvious second rooms others might have secret rooms. We do not tell our players if a game has or doesn’t have multiple rooms, simply because the mystery could be ruined. But all our rooms are full of surprises and Ah-ha moments that will WOW you!
All of our escape game rooms have a minimum of 2 players and a maximum of 6 to 12 players depending on the themed room. In the room description, you will see the maximum amount of players per room.
Sorry, but we ask that you refrain from taking photos or videos in our escape rooms. We want to preserve the secrets of our rooms so everyone can have the fullest experience.
If a room is meant to be scary we will make it known prior to booking. Most of our rooms are more adventure-themed than scary. No one is going to jump out of the dark to scare you, so people with heart conditions are welcome!
Our rooms accommodate groups of 2 up to 12 players, so escape games are perfect for corporate events, birthday parties, etc. For large groups we can run 52 players per hour. If you have a larger group call for arrangements. If you would like to do something new and unique, then this is the perfect activity.

Once you book a room all open slots will be blocked, if you would like to add players just show up with the extra players and pay at the counter or you can call 301-360-5971. As long as you do not go over the maximum amount of players allowed in the room, you can always add players.
All escape rooms are private. You will never be paired with strangers. Once you book a room all open slots will be blocked. You can add players and pay at counter the day of your booking as long as you do not pass the maximum amount of players for the room.
Anyone can play! However, if you are under 16 years of age, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Everyone must fill out a waiver prior to entering and playing the escape rooms. Children are welcome, but we recommend that all children are 10 years or older. Children 6 years old or younger play for free but they need to be counted for the rooms maximum count and we only permit one per room.
We do recommend it, but Walk-ins are welcome. We will try to do our best to accommodate walk-ins but we recommend booking on line or calling ahead. You can see escape room dates, times, and book a room on our online booking page.
The regular price starts as low as $38 per player plus AA Maryland state tax, when booking for 3 players or more. The price for 2-player teams is $45 per player.

No, your safety is our top priority, so you are not actually locked in the room! You have the option to leave the escape room at any time, if necessary. You do need to complete the mission to win.
Sorry, all sales are final. Booked time and date can be changed only with 24 to 48 hours notification. Same-day changes have a $38 administrative fee, plus if your booking was on a Saturday or Sunday you can not reschedule for another Saturday or Sunday. If you are with-in 2 hour of start time there are no changes.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your booking. We do have to keep a strict schedule and all waivers must be filled out before the game, so if you arrive late you may not receive the full 60 minutes in your room.
